Looks like Kentucky Ink was right as huge Tennessee DT Tim McAdoo gave a "soft" commitment to UK yesterday and will become the 'Cats 4th recruit. As those that play NCAA10 know, a soft commitment does not always stick, but here is hoping that McAdoo stays in Kentucky Blue the next four years. McAdoo has the potential to be a beast, and he is definitely a needed player on the DL. Ranking wise, Tim is a overall 76 on ESPN and a solid ***. Overall, a very good grab from Brooks and Co to get him out of Tennessee. Here is more from ESPN on McAdoo:McAdoo plays on both the offensive and defensive line in high school. At over 300 pounds he could be looked at as a bull dozing guard, but will likely play or at least start out on defense in college. He has solid height and good bulk though he will need to watch how he adds size. He has a solid get-off. Displays the ability to attack half-a-man and will flash the ability to get some penetration. He can be active with his hands and when he uses them he can quickly shed and be tough to block. He does though need to work on more consistently bringing and using his hands. Does a solid job of protecting his legs and staying on his feet. Displays the ability to read blocks and is active along the line of scrimmage. Displays adequate speed in pursuit. He is a solid tackler though like many big men he can over-run the play and have to grab at the ball carrier. Displays a solid motor. As a pass rusher he can be more consistently active with his weapons, but does need to be sure to not attack the whole man. McAdoo is not a flashy defensive tackle, but he is a solid player at the position and could be a good fit as a shade.
Here is a look at some other players we hope to see in Blue and White soon, plus some video footage of McAdoo. Welcome to the Big Blue Nation, Tim!!
