Calipari will have last laugh on SEC coaches this weekend ... and even Pat Forde thinks so

by Paul Jordan

To be honest, I don't think John Calipari really thinks what the SEC coaches think about him. But I am sure that he will use the SEC coaches hatred of him as extra motivation as the Cats go for the SEC Tournament Title this weekend in Nashville.

In case you have not heard, the SEC handed out it's awards today and while John Wall was named Player of the Year, First Team All SEC, and on the All Freshman team. DeMarcus Cousins was named Freshman of the year and First team All SEC and on the Freshman team. Patrick Patterson was first team All SEC and first team all defense. Eric Bledsoe was named to the all Freshman Team. And John Calipari ... was not ... named coach of they year.

Whaaa?

Yea. Kevin from "The Office" Stallings and the coach of the second place Vanderbilt Commodores won SEC coach of the year. It must have been for the style and composure his team showed when they lost to Kentucky twice this season or how they finished two games out of first place. Or lost seven games when Cal lost two. Meh. it doesn't matter.

John Calipari is going to have his revenge on the SEC coaches like Frances Farmer had her revenge on Seattle.

The idiocy of the fellow SEC coaches is even more apparent when Calipari hater Pat Forde is not stupid enough to go against Cal as SEC coach of the year:

Coach of the year: John Calipari. He has excelled once again as a team-builder, taking over an underachieving team and integrating young talent without any chemistry problems. What the Wildcats have occasionally lacked in full-game dominance they have made up for with spectacular bursts of brilliance and an ability to put games away at crunch time.

And as for this weekend? Forde picks Cal to have the last laugh this weekend in Nashville.

Tournament winner: Kentucky. The first two games could be rematches with the only teams that beat the Wildcats: South Carolina in the quarters and Tennessee in the semis. The final could be Round 3 against a team desperate to win the automatic bid. None of that should be enough to derail the Cats.

Not that I am advocating actually liking Pat Forde. Just think it's amazing that the Cat's number one hater can even see that Cal is the best coach in the SEC while the hating SEC coaches refuse to acknowledge they got owned this season.

To be honest, I like the SEC's hatred of my Wildcats. It just means that Kentucky is back. Bring us your tired, your weak, your green eyed masses and we will run roughshod over them on the way to a national title. Maybe after the Wildcat's hoist their second league championship this weekend, they will realize that the king is back.

Keep on hating ... we'll win more.

No doubt Cal deserve's coach of the year but i have to disagree with your statement about Cal being the best coach not to say he's not a very good coach the thing that set's Cal apart is RECRUITING

Im a huge Kentucky fan, but Calipari not being named coach of the year does not bother me. Calipari had much superior talent than Stallings did, and Vandy did very well this year.
If you only go on wins and losses that is decieving. How in the world do you explain Coach Rich Brooks winning coach of the year in the SEC this year over Alabamas Sabin? Well Alabama had incredible players and won with them, Kentucky had good players and excelled further than people thought with them. I am thrilled Brooks won the SEC Football coach of the year because he honestly deserved it.
So people.....chill out!

I ntend to agree ... I am not up in arms over the snub ... just think it will give Cal some motivation this weekend ... just in case he needed it ...

It's just a joke to have one team compile this talent and lead the league but 2 games and not get recognized ...

Just with the second comment .. Cal should get credit for compiling those good players a s well....
